On Thailand’s Southwest coast, looking out over the Andaman Sea, lies Krabi, a resort paradise with so much to offer the traveller. Think Krabi, think sunshine and beaches. Krabi can boast a unique coastline dotted with over 150 islands and islets, some dressed with small, white sandy beaches trimmed with turquoise waters.

There are many rocky limestone outcrops rising up out of the sea in incredulous forms supporting their own untouched micro eco-systems.
Island hopping along the coastline is a spectacle that is a must. The photo opportunities are unique and almost endless, and the “Wow” factor will never leave you. Explore beneath the calm waters with fantastic scuba diving and snorkeling, or maybe workout on the surface with some sea kayaking.

As difficult as it may seem, it is a good idea to prise yourself away from the beach to explore more of Krabi’s delights. The un-spoilt hinterlands are a real treasure.

Explore a Different World in Thung Teao Forest National Park

Step out on the well-planned nature trails and you soon find yourself cut off from the outside world. You enter a unique world of bio-diversity of new dimensions, color, flora and fauna. Along the trail stop for a swim in the crystal lagoon, it’s the stuff movies are made of, and don’t forget your camera.

Have a Unique Bathe at Klong Thom Hot Springs

The mineral rich water in the stone pools around the hot springs are reputed to have health and body rejuvenating properties. Wallow in the revitalizing water, which can reach 40 degrees C, and when that gets too much cool off in the adjacent cool stream. You’ll come away from here feeling energized and ready for anything.

Take a Hike Through Khao Phanom Bencha National Park

A short distance from Krabi town, this national park offers stunning exploration for hikers. Follow the well-marked trails through the forest, resting at the perfectly placed lookout points to take in the stunning views. Explore the caves and waterfalls and marvel at the amazing rock formations. Here you are most certainly at peace with nature.

There is wonderful sunbathing and swimming at Railay beach, but for the action man, or woman, why not try rock climbing? There are skilled professionals to tutor beginners and advise advanced climbers, everyone is catered for with challenging climbs for children and adults. As Krabi’s beaches are bathed in sunset’s twilight the daytime activities give way to the fun and merry making of the witching hours.

Take a Romantic Sunset Dinner Cruise from West Railway Beach, or Ao Nang Beach

Get on board the “Pla Luang”, a sailing junk, and cruise the islands. After dining, relax with a beer or take a swim and enjoy the sunset. Then witness a surreal sight near Phra Nang Beach, the out of this world sight of bio-luminescence.

Explore the Mangroves with a Sunset Kayaking Paddle

This hour and half leisurely paddle takes you through the twisting waterways through the mangroves. See the nocturnal fauna as it starts to take possession of the night. The sunset tour ends with a beach barbeque and drinks. If you are looking for something a little bit different in the evening, this is it.

Krabi’s Lively Entertainment at Ao Nang Centre Point

This is the center of Krabi’s party scene, if you want to go drinking, this is the place. Centre Point consists of three stories of bars with different themes and music. There are also cabarets and plenty of food choices, and if you are so inclined, get a tattoo.

Nighttime Shopping at Krabi’s Walking Street

At Walking Street’s market you can but clothes, jewelry, handicrafts or just a small souvenir. Street vendors tempt you with every conceivable snack, street musicians entertain and dancers dance for your entertainment. Sit for an artist and have your portrait drawn as a great memento.
