Real Coffee Boracay
Since 1996 this American, Mother and Daughter ( Lee Rosaia and Nadine ) owned Coffee shop, Real Coffee Boracay, between stations 1 and 2, has been serving travellers to Boracay with freshly brewed coffee and their famous home-baked Calamansi muffins. When it first opened it could be found on the beach front, but now with the uncontrolled building of new hotels, shops and restaurants it is hidden from view down a short passageway between the surrounding high buildings, so it does take a bit of finding.
Built from local sustainable materials like bamboo and dried coconut fronds it is a simple structure in the Nipa Hut style with the kitchen as the centre piece. You can drink your coffee at the bar and watch staff baking muffins, and preparing the food for customers, or you may choose to sit quietly in a corner with a book or laptop.
The Real coffee house is very popular and can tend to get crowded at times. You can even spot local Philippine celebrities, actors and sportspersons there. The numerous staff are kept very busy under the watchful eyes of the owners, baking ,cleaning, and serving customers.
Even though there is no aircon, Real Coffee has a much better atmosphere than their american competition Starbucks which is just abit further along the beach. Why people bother with commercial chains i really do not understand, when they can be supporting local businesses instead.
The muffins are really popular, and are available for takeout. Be sure to place your order to avaoid disappointment.,,,, Flavours include Carrot, Calamansi and my favourite the Ultimate !!!!!!
They also have a very good menu for all kinds of snacks and meals with generous helpings and reasonable prices. They will even take orders for Muffins and deliver to your hotel or hostel on Boracay for a small extra fee, but you need to order early in the day due to the popularity of the muffins especially their Calamansi.

Where is Real Coffee Boracay
Since I first wrote this blog post Real Coffee Boracay has moved to a beach front location on Station 2. The interior is still dec orated with bamboo and it still has a kind of rustic feel to it, despite being in a concrete building on the second floor. It has even changed its name to Real Coffee and Tea.
Walk along the Station 2 Beach front and look for Sea World, a diving shop. The entrance door to Real Coffee Boracay is sandwiched between Islands Souvenirs and Seaworld. Climb the stairs to the second floor above Sea World and Grab a seat by the long open window and pass time people watching on the coconut lined beach front below.
The full address of Real Coffee Boracay is Station 2, 2/F Sea World, 5608 Boracay, Aklan, Philippines.
