Abra in Pictures 2019 – The Best of Abra Photos
Abra is famous for its Kaparkan Falls. With over five thousand visitors this year it is one of the most popular waterfalls in the country.
The Province has much more to offer visitors. There are opportunities waiting for any tourist that can find their way here with or without an organised tour.
I asked my readers to submit their favourite photo for this post to give an overview of what else is on offer in the Province of Abra. Obviously i cannot include everywhere but i hope that these Abra Photos will give you a taste of whats instore for you if and when you come.
Abra needs time. It is not to be rushed. There are so-called white van tours which speed you around the country taking in as many destinations as they can in a day or two. My advice for you is to slow down. Travel and Learn about each destination. Your trip will be more rewarding if you do.
The best way to see Abra is with Abramazing Tours. They offer bespoke tours to all of the Province (depending on weather and road conditions). Abramazing Tours also offers free advice and tips.
Visit their Tourism Office at the Pasalubong Centre by Tangadan Tunnel as you enter Abra.
Remember to clean all your trash and take it home with you. Keep Abra Clean. Be a responsible tourist.

We felt we stumbled upon a masterpiece painted by hands of God himself, but still my words are not enough to touch its beauty and mystery. This shot was taken at Ar-arbis Falls in Pang Ot Lagayan. It was truly the El Dorado of the North.

Are you a nature lover and an adventurer like me?
Daguioman has a lot to offer. It is called the hidden paradise because of its cold weather, lush green rice paddies, sunsets in the evening, mountains to climb, clean rivers to swim in and falls to chase. Basakal Falls is one at Ableg, Daguioman, Abra.

That one hour trek under the scorching sun to Ar-arbis Falls in Pang Ot Lagayan was nothing compared to its majestic beauty. Seeing this rainbow up close gives a mesmerizing and surreal experience. It will truly take you to an enchanting world. A must see wonder.

Imitation means flattery. The new attraction at Victoria Park, Bangued, Abra was inspired from the Urban Lights of Los Angeles. Abrenos who can’t go to Los Angeles can experience the ambiance of an illuminated area that brightens up someone’s gloomy day. Instead of selfies and groufies, ant’s eye view is a more creative way to show the beauty of this attraction. Sunset and late night pictures with all the lights on are also instagrammable!

The patterns of mixed fields of corn and direct seeded rice caught my eye. With the backdrop of the Abra River this picturesque part of San Quintin can be seen from the highway.
Stop and enjoy the views and pastoral air.
Piwek Rock Formations, Alaoa, Tineg
Name – Elad Ben David
Country – Israel
I really enjoyed my trip to Abra and especially the tour out to Piwek Rock Formations. The scenery along the way was amazing and this river so clean. The rock formations here are a sight to be seen. There is also an 11 metre cliff jump which gets the adrenaline rushing as you look down at the water below. Try it if you dare.

No words are needed to explain the beauty of these falls. Come to Abra and see Kaparkan Falls for yourself. Words will fail you too. Often used in Abra Photos by many organisations.
Apao Rolling Hills, Tineg

The scenery in Apao is out of this world. Real beauty. Take time to explore and hike along the trails used by the locals.

The Kawayan Festival is held every March in Abra. Kawayan means Bamboo. The festival is celebrated annually giving thanks for the abundance of bamboo in the province. The programme includes streetdancing, ethnic song and music, and cultural programs where gongs and bamboo musical instrument are played,
The festival also includes products and crafts made from bamboo from all over Abra.

And of course one of my favourite Abra photos this year.
Teofilo Garcia, National Living Treasure, Maker of Tabungaw Hats.
Teofilo teaches school children in the art of Tabungaw hat making in the hope that one of them will be interested enough to make this a career choice and learn more of the intricacies of the skill.
Every year the students make their own graduation hats using a tabungaw. You can see the glowing happiness and pride that overcome him as he joins his students for a group photo.
