Getting around Corfu

Getting to Corfu is quite easy. You can take a direct flight to Corfu from London with the trip lasting for about 3 hours. It might be challenging getting direct flights during winter, but there are other options available. Another alternative is to take a flight to Athens (which is always available) then use other means of transportation to get to the island.

Once on the island, depending on your fitness level, you might think of hiring a bicycle or scooter from one of the rental shops scattered about the main town, or even hire a car to tour the island with.

Greece has good road networks, and Corfu is only about an hour away from most nearby towns. Also, you can travel to the island from Italy using the ferries.
The best part is that you can live in Corfu and visit other cities in Greece, especially if you are trying to explore more of the wonders of the country.

Entertainment, Sports, and outdoor activities

Living in Corfu means that you are going to experience all the fun activities at an intimate level just like a local. You can blend into the island as if you were born there, but the decision is totally up to you. If you want to, you can get in tune with their local traditions and culture and join their feasts and celebrations. Speaking of celebrations and festivals, these events are filled with local music, customs, dances and plenty of wine and local dishes. You can be sure to catch any of these festivals all-year-round, but if you are looking for the biggest of them all, visit the island around Easter.
