Where to Stay in Licuan-Baay, Abra, Philippines
Licuan-Baay is a municipality just around 90 minutes away from Bangued along the Abra-Kalinga Road. It has a mountainous landscape, rising to an altitude of over 1500masl, with waterfalls, caves, hiking trails to be enjoyed by tourists who venture there.
Licuan-Baay is a great alternative to the overcrowded tourist spots of Baguio and Sagada. Here you can enjoy fresh cool mountain air and feel nature without the annoyance of traffic pollution or huge crowds.
The best way to appreciate the many attractions of Licuan-Baay is to spend a weekend or even a few days there in the company of family or friends. At the moment there are not many places to stay in Licuan-Baay. I have found three which are able to cater to the different groups of tourist – Homestay, Camping, and DIY Groups.
I am sure that there will be more in the near future as this new found tourist destination becomes more popular.

Why Stay at Maney Hill Camp?
If it is seclusion you are looking for, then Maney Hill Camp is the place for you. Bring your own tent and find your pitch on the lush green lawn that fronts the wooden chalet. Maney Hill Camp is the perfect place to unwind and relax. The Camp has its own fishponds where you can learn to fish and poultry for fresh eggs.
The kitchen is available for cooking (there is a small charge for the gas) and supplies can be bought in the village. For those who don’t have a tent, there is a tree house to stay in (just check availability when booking your stay).
There is no mains electricity on site. There is Solar powered outdoor and indoor lighting and a generator is available in the evenings to charge up your gadgets. Fresh clean Drinking water flows year round from a nearby spring and if you really do feel the need to connect to the internet there is an excellent cellular signal.
Maney Hill Camp is also an ideal setting for larger groups. Why not have a camping Family Reunion or a Team Building event and rent the whole site exclusively for your function.
Getting Married? Then Maney Hill Camp is an excellent place for your pre-nuptial photoshoot.
In the evening why not gather some dry wood, start a fire in the purpose built Firepit and sit around chatting, enjoying music and a drink in the cool mountain air.
Adventure is also close at hand. There are hikes around the area to waterfalls and a mountain you can climb. Explore the town of Licuan or if you feel like going further afield there are the Talaay Falls in Brgy Bonglo for more adventure. Just ask the owners for their recommendations.
